David de Gea back in training, could feature vs PSG: report

David de Gea is back in Manchester United training, after seemingly overcoming a knee problem.

The super-Spaniard would collide heavily with the post as he attempted to stop a James Ward-Prowe free-kick from nestling into the back of his net. He’d immediately have to be substituted, handing Dean Henderson his Premier League debut for Manchester United.

Our English academy product would look mightily composed in that second 45, making a couple of important stops to ensure United had the chance at completing an impressive comeback.

Questions were then raised about whether Henderson was in line to start against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, particularly after images of De Gea’s leg in a knee brace surfaced.

Well, it now looks as though Henderson’s wait to take over as the first-choice goalkeeper will have to go on…

The Independent highlight that United have been handed an injury boost, with De Gea straight back into training. They also claim that he could feature against PSG tomorrow.

So who starts tomorrow now that De Gea is back in training…?

While Henderson was no doubt ready and raring to go, I would imagine De Gea will come right back into the starting line-up.

It’s a game that United are desperate to win, in order to ensure they remain in control of their own Champions League fate. Although we all love Henderson, this probably isn’t the ideal situation to throw him straight into.

Plus, it’s always nice to have everyone fit. It gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a real headache, though there’s no better back-up in world football than Henderson.

I think we all know that in the long-run, it’s Henderson’s job. For now, De Gea is the better goalkeeper, albeit the gap is closing. Eventually, Henderson will surpass his Spanish counterpart. All he can do in the meantime is continue to impress his coaches out on the training pitch.
