David de Gea could leave Manchester United in the summer

David de Gea has been Manchester United’s best player bar none for the past twelve months or so, and over the past few weeks heads have been turned as rumours linking him with a return to Spain seem to be cropping up more and more in the media.

Reports from Spain suggest that David de Gea leaving Manchester United in the summer is a possibility, and its due to the fact he is sick of the ‘always negative’ Louis van Gaal. It is true that Van Gaal has often held back in press conferences in regards to David de Gea’s outstanding performances, but when you factor in that no new deal has yet been signed by the Spaniard, you do understand exactly why Louis van Gaal hasn’t been shouting his name from the rooftops.

We all want David de Gea to stay at Manchester United, but the ball is well and truly in his court. He has just eighteen months left on his current deal, and if he keeps putting in the performances he’ll either be able to force a move away from Old Trafford, or sign a bumper deal that could see him become the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
