The future of David de Gea has been up in the air all summer, with the 24-year old desperate for a move to Real Madrid that hasn’t yet come to fruition. According to The Sun, his agent is now set for talks with the Old Trafford club to try and force the move through.
Manchester United have done superbly to keep David de Gea at the club for this long, and whilst it would be a great shame to lose him at this point in the window, Louis van Gaal has to do what is best for team morale and confidence – as they’ll all know how unhappy De Gea is and their belief in him may have faded.
That said, the Spaniard has remained the consummate professional throughout and credit must have to go to him for that. Hopefully we can do what we did with Cristiano Ronaldo – keep him for one more season, he’ll play his heart out and then he will go to the Bernabeu with the blessing of the fans.
