Manchester United fans have been given some news that they’ve all been craving to hear. David de Gea will be staying at Manchester United beyond the summer. That’s according to Sky Sports News’ Guillem Balague, who is always spot on when it comes to Real Madrid transfers.
“I think De Gea now is a clear situation,” Balague told Sky Sports News HQ. “Real Madrid have decided not to go with him. He’s happy, he wants to stay with Manchester United and see what Jose Mourinho brings to him.”
The Spaniard is currently with his national team out in France at the moment, as they take part in the European Championships. What a twelve months it has been for him. He has once again been Manchester United’s Player of the Year, and has finally broken Iker Casillas’ grip on the Spain #1 jersey.
To hear him say that he wants to stay at Old Trafford is brilliant news. He is arguably the best keeper in the world at the moment, and the fact that we can persuade him to stay without Champions League football is huge.
The lure of Jose Mourinho is already making an massive impression at the Theatre of Dreams, and if the self-proclaimed Special One can make some astute signings, we could be in for an excellent season.
