Manchester United face Sunderland at Old Trafford tomorrow, with minds slightly distracted as Louis van Gaal and David de Gea have a reported feud which has meant the pair haven’t spoken in months. However today De Gea has slammed the press and called those rumours a lie.
He goes on to add that their relationship is perfectly fine, and he’ll do what is best for the club going forward.
“Everything that has been written in the press about us (DDG & LvG) not getting on is a lie.” De Gea told the official website.
Whilst its nice to see him deny these rumours quite quickly, I feel it doesn’t change the situation and the chances are he is off to Real Madrid in the summer. If he was going to sign a new contract he probably would’ve done it already, and the longer this one drags on the more likely he’ll be leaving.
