On transfer deadline day one of the most bizarre incidents took place at Manchester United Football Club. As the 11pm Spanish transfer deadline loomed, Real Madrid couldn’t get the paperwork completed in time, and David de Gea remained a Manchester United player.
In complete contrast from that day, David de Gea is now reportedly eager to extend his Manchester United contract. According to the Spanish publication El Confidencial, Jorge Mendes (De Gea’s agent) has been spotted at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground trying to negotiate a new contract for his client.
Even if De Gea doesn’t renew, having him back for one more season is a huge plus. Hopefully he’ll get the nod to start against Liverpool over Sergio Romero, despite all the Argentinian’s hard work I just don’t feel he is good enough to be our number one.
