Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has insisted he’s trying his best to get the Barcelona midfielder to join United, but insists its difficult because Barcelona is his home. De Gea, 23, is in the Spanish squad for the first time, as they prepare for the World Cup.
It is common knowledge that Barcelona are prepared to sell Fabregas if the right offer comes in, and similarly to how he helped persuade Mata to join the club in January, David de Gea is trying his best yet again.
“I’ve tried to convince Cesc to come but it’s difficult. He feels very good in Barcelona. It is his home,” De Gea said.
It would be brilliant if we managed to sign Fabregas and start our own little Spanish armada at the club. The more Spaniards we have the likelihood that they’ll want to stay longer due to being surrounded by more close friends.
Persuading him to leave could be quite difficult though, and you’d imagine Arsenal would be his destination of choice if he came back to England. At the end of the day, money talks, and if enough money is offered he could make the switch.
