De Gea to reject Real Madrid and pen new United deal

Manchester United have been on a horrible run of late, losing their last three games since the Manchester derby. However some good news may be on the horizon. According to The Sun, United are set to tie David de Gea down to a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.

They go on to say that De Gea will reject Real Madrid if they do bid for his signature, but he is holding out until the end of the season to see if Manchester United make it into the Champions League this term.

What a huge coup this would be, if we can persuade De Gea to stay and sign a new long-term deal then we don’t have to worry about the goalkeeper spot for the next few seasons at least, allowing Louis van Gaal to concentrate on the more problematic areas currently persisting in our squad.

It is now up to the lads to get their heads down, work hard and seal a spot in the top four for next season, and bring those brilliant Champions League nights back to Old Trafford.
