Dean Henderson sends heartfelt message to Chris Wilder

Dean Henderson has swiftly taken to social media, to send an appreciative tweet to Chris Wilder.

Cast your mind back to last season when Dean Henderson wasn’t even close to a Manchester United breakthrough. Eventually, the budding shot-stopper would head to Sheffield United for a second consecutive season.

Hendo would become an integral fixture of The Blades’ starting line-up, making great saves, keeping clean sheets and becoming a vocal leader for Wilder’s side.

This term, though, Sheffield United would have to do it without Henderson. Right now, they’re sitting bottom of the pile, over ten points away from safety. Something had to give. Sadly, that something would be Wilder.

Shortly after news about Wilder’s sacking would break, the United star would take to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to the ‘great’ manager who gave him his opportunity.

Check out what Henderson tweeted here:

I know this is a United blog, but I’d like to talk about Sheffield United for a moment. This feels like completely the wrong decision from The Blades, who should have kept the faith in the manager who has done so much for that club.

Henderson improved so much under Wilder’s tutelage during his two-year stint at Bramall Lane and it’s no surprise that the shot-stopper is forever thankful for everything the gaffer did for him.

Back to the Red Devils, it was a pretty bad mistake Henderson made against AC Milan last night. Now, it’s about bouncing back from that error and coming back stronger.

I don’t doubt our future number one will do just that with a commanding performance against West Ham United this weekend. Given our injury issues, Henderson sure is going to be busy!
