Dean Henderson expects to start vs Istanbul Basaksehir tomorrow: report

Dean Henderson is in line to start for Manchester United tomorrow, vs Istanbul Basaksehir.

Manchester United are ready for revenge. It’s typical that the worst team in the group is the ones who would beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. Pretty comfortably, too.

Tomorrow night at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have to go out there and prove a point. Ahead of that game, we’ve already been given some team news information… Dean Henderson is in line to play.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the 23-year-old United star ‘expects’ to play tomorrow, which if he does, that’d be his fourth start of the season.

Apparently, Solskjaer is believed to have told Henderson he is set for selection in the second game against Istanbul, after the Englishman was handed the start in the away leg also.

What’s interesting is that this claim comes less than 24 hours after we covered a claim from The Sun on Sunday, who suggested that Henderson is keen to secure a January loan move away.

Simply put, Henderson just wants to play football. Be it at United or elsewhere, the shot-stopper wants to prove his worth. Personally, I feel he’s ready for the starting job here in Manchester. However, handing him starts every now and then isn’t going to suffice. He wants to play week-in-week-out and eventually, his patience will run out.

Either way, tomorrow night gives us all another glimpse into what Henderson can do. I really do hope he plays well and impresses, though, in reality, I think it’ll be another quiet afternoon for the emerging goalie. Then, when January comes, let’s see what options are out there for him.

Henderson definitely deserves the start vs Istanbul, now let’s hope he takes that chance!
