Diego Forlan and Park Ji-Sung would reunite at Qatar 2022 yesterday.
The FIFA World Cup is now well underway. We’re almost a week into the competition, with the group stage progressing nicely.
Manchester United have plenty of representatives over in Qatar, playing for some of the best teams on the international stage.
The club also have plenty of ambassadors and former top-class players out there, too.
Two former icons would reunite in Qatar yesterday, with Park Ji-Sung and Diego Forlan all-smiles as they posted for a photo upon their meeting.
Forlan and Park would meet as their nations, Uruguay and South Korea respectively, would face off. The game finished 0-0 so there was no bragging rights for either party!
Honestly, I love stuff like this. It just reaffirms the notion that United is a global club, who have had some top-class footballers from every single corner of the globe.

Forlan, who is remembered for hurting Liverpool’s feelings on more than one occasion, was an elite-level player, particularly when pulling on that Uruguay jersey.
Park’s on-field brilliance cannot be argued. United would not have won as many trophies as they did without him. His energy, skill and overall quality was a major factor in the Sir Alex Ferguson glory days.
The pair are no doubt watching on through gritted teeth at the way United are being run at the moment – though that could change soon if the Glazer family do sell up.
In footballing terms, both of these guys would make excellent ambassadors for United in the future. They’d carry the brand proudly. Two footballers that will always be fondly remembered by United fans for the rest of time.
