Dimitar Berbatov has named Victor Osimhen as the ideal striker signing for Man United.

Manchester United may well be in the market for a new striker this summer. Wout Weghorst has done well, though he’s probably not the viable option in the long run.

Anthony Martial is another who simply cannot be relied upon due to his injury situation. The Frenchman has been consistently absent for large portions of the season. No doubt Erik ten Hag has taken note of that…

Two names seem to keep popping up as potential signings; Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

The latter is in sensational form for Napoli right now, while we all know what Kane can do.

Reds legend Dimitar Berbatov has actually named the 24-year-old Napoli man as a player that United should sign this summer, labelling the star as ‘unbelievable’ right now.

Berba points to his age, speed, aerial threat and goalscoring ability as Osimhen’s biggest selling points.

When speaking to Betfred, when asked if there’s one stirker United should sign, Berbatov said: “Victor Osimhen. The guy is unbelievable at the moment.

“He’s very young, he’s great in the air, his speed is exceptional and the goals he’s scoring for Napoli are unbelievable. If they do go for a striker in the summer, then they should go for him over everybody else.”

We’ve said it before. Osimhen feels like the ideal striker for this system. The man from Nigeria does feel like the man, while age-wise, he’s far younger than Kane.

The problem here could be negotiating with Napoli. The Serie A side are incredibly tough customers when it comes to letting their players leave. They set an asking price and do not waver. That fee is likely going to cost in excess of £100m. Will United have that sort of budget to spend on one player?

It also comes down to what United can offer. The Reds need to finish inside the top four, in order to even have a chance at luring Osimhen to the Theatre of Dreams. Don’t forget, staying at Napoli may even be an option. They’re looking good to finish as Serie A winners, while they also remain in the Champions League.
