Di’Shon Bernard has agreed to terms on a new contract at Man United.
The talent-pool at Old Trafford right now is arguably greater than it has ever been before. Credit where it’s due, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has placed a real focus on the next generation and eventually, it will pay off.
Amongst those who are knocking on the first-team door is young centre-back, Di’Shon Bernard. The defender has been brilliant at youth level for the Old Trafford club, though the arrival of Raphael Varane makes it hard to break into the side this year.
Well, today the club announced that Bernard has signed a new long-term contract at the Theatre of Dreams. The Reds also confirmed the defender will spend the season on loan at Hull City.
As you’d imagine, Bernard would express how ‘extremely happy’ he was to have signed a new contract, with the 20-year-old United starlet all-smiles.

For Bernard, his future is now secure, meaning he can solely concentrate on playing his football at a high level. I don’t doubt this young man has what it takes to go right the way to the top.
The opportunity to play week-in-week-out at Hull City is a massive step up from playing for Salford City, where he spent last term on loan.
It’ll also give Bernard a taste of what it’s like in the lower levels, perhaps offering the defender that extra motivation to ensure he can make it at the Theatre of Dreams.
Let’s also not forget Bernard is firmly in Solskjaer’s thinking, having made his Europa League debut under the Baby Faced Assassin back in 2019.
