D’Mani Mellor confirms he’s leaving Man United

Man United youngster D’Mani Mellor has confirmed he’ll be on his way out of the club this summer.

There’s no doubt about it, the overhaul at Manchester United this summer will be the biggest in years.

The Old Trafford club could quickly move on at least ten first-team players, while several youngsters will also be on their way out following contract expiries.

Erik ten Hag has a different way of playing. It’s a style that won’t suit everyone. Now begins the mass clearout from the ground up. One player who has already confirmed his departure is D’Mani Mellor.

After over ten years with the club, the 21-year-old starlet took to Instagram to confirm he’s leaving the Reds this summer. It was a heartfelt post from the young attacker, who made his full debut against Astana in the Europa League a few years ago.

Since making his debut, Mellor has had a brutal time of it. The Mancunian would suffer a serious knee injury which set him back at least a couple of years.

He’d then head to Salford City on loan, but further injury issues meant that deal was cut short. Mellor would then be all set to move to Crawley Town on loan, but that deal would fall through.

It’s a shame because Mellor is undoubtedly talented. However, there’s nothing you can do about injuries and it must be so frustrating for the player.

Perhaps Mellor just wants a change of scenery. Perhaps he’s hoping a club will take a gamble on him and offer the forward regular playing time.

Thanks for everything, D’Mani! All the best.
