Done Deal: 22-Year-old completes permanent switch away from Man Utd

Manchester United Football Club have confirmed yet another outgoing transfer, with Mourinho sanctioning a permanent transfer for the Mancunian defender Tyler Blackett. The 22-year-old has signed for Reading on a three-year deal, and his new manager will be none other than Jaap Stam.

Blackett has been at the club for years, with the left-back joining the ranks at Carrington way back in 2002. In Louis van Gaal’s first season in charge, Blackett went on to make 12 first-team appearances for the club, but last season struggled massively whilst on loan at Celtic.

It looked for all the world that Blackett would be moved on during this summer, because he has shown his full capabilities, and you feel as though he just wasn’t ever going to be good enough.

Check out Manchester United’s tweet here:

It’s a real shame that it didn’t really work out for Tyler here. He made a bright start to life in the first-team, but that quickly went backwards. A move away is definitely the best move for all involved, because he needs to be playing regularly.

Thanks for everything, Tyler. Good luck for the future!
