Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 16-year-old defensive midfielder, Aliou Traore.
The talented Frenchman was touted to complete a move to the Theatre of Dreams over the summer, but for whatever reason, it took United several months to finally push a deal through.
Now, though, he’s on the books and the Red Devils have added another teenage sensation to a long list of top-drawer talents already on their books.
In terms of style, we don’t really know how U18 coach Kieran McKenna is planning on using Traore, but once we’ve seen him in action a few times we’ll get a better idea.
This is a player who has had a spell at Paris Saint-Germain back in his homeland, so it’s obvious that he’s a hot prospect. The hardest thing for him will be adapting to the English way of life, while trying to learn a new language in the process.
I guess you never really know exactly how it’s going to turn out with youth players. Some develop, whereas others don’t kick on. We’ll just have to be patient and hope for the best.
