Manchester United have completed another piece of outgoing transfer business as we enter the closing stages of the January window, and this time its a young English striker. Will Keane, now 22, has departed to Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the rest of the season.
The Stockport-born front man made his Manchester United debut way back in 2011, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men were looking for a late goal in a horrific 3-2 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers. Keane came on and looked a real goal threat, but sadly his chances have been limited since that day.
Keane signed a new deal last summer, meaning he still has over two years to run on his current contract, so unless he thoroughly impresses whilst out on loan, it looks as though he’ll be coming back to the club this summer.
His twin brother Michael left the club on a permanent basis earlier on this month, as he made the switch to fellow Premier League side Burnley.
