Manchester United left-back Demetri Mitchell has left Old Trafford on a loan deal, he’ll be playing in the SPFL for Hearts, the Scottish club has confirmed.
The 21-year-old made his debut at the back-end of last season, and he looked absolutely brilliant in the Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
He’s obviously an immensely talented young man, it’s just a shame for him that United have so many players who play in the same position as him – meaning chances are extremely limited.
Loaning him out to Hearts makes plenty of sense, as he will, hopefully, be playing week-in-week-out in competitive matches, which will only improve him as a footballer.

Watching him come through the youth system has been a real pleasure and I was delighted when he was given his chance under Jose Mourinho last term. Now, it’s up to him to kick on and show Scotland what he can do, while no doubt, the self-proclaimed Special One will be keeping a watchful eye on the Englishman.
He’s a player that looked great during United’s pre-season tour of the USA before the season got underway, which hints to me that Mourinho does plan on utilising him in the future.
Good luck Demetri, and hopefully, we’ll see you on tour with the Red Devils over the summer!
