Manchester United Football Club have today confirmed that Demetri Mitchell has re-joined Hearts on loan.
The Red Devils took to social media to release the news, with the young left-back heading North of the border once again, in order to play regular football to continue his growth and development.
Mitchell was at Hearts last term, but his loan spell was cruelly cut short as he picked up an injury. Their fans absolutely adore the young Englishman, no doubt his reputation will continue to grow over the next twelve months.
I’m happy for him, while being somewhat surprised. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Mitchell could have followed his pal Andreas Pereira into the first-team squad this year. He’s an underrated player who probably offers more than Ashley Young on the left-side of the defence.
However, he has a big year in front of him. Hearts have started their campaign brilliantly. Imagine the uproar if it’s their year and they uproot Celtic at the top of the SPL? Mitchell will no doubt give them a morale boost, and watching him play week-in-week-out is certainly going to be exciting.
All the best, Demi!
