Donny van de Beek’s time at Manchester United may well be winding to an end…
Manchester United’s progression under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in terms of the playing squad, is clear.
However, results have been poor recently, with the 5-0 drubbing of Liverpool a real low-point. The Baby Faced Assassin’s reluctance to change the players, tactics and formation is largely why.
One man who has often been out in the cold is Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman has barely been called upon by Solskjaer, despite the fact that the Norwegian spent the best part of £40million to sign the midfielder from Ajax.
This term was supposed to be different. This was supposed to be Van de Beek’s time. Sadly, he hasn’t been given that chance. Now, the 24-year-old has had enough.
According to Voetball International, via the Mirror, the United star has now changed his agent. Van de Beek also wants his new representative to find him a new club, presumably as early as January.
Let’s be honest, Van de Beek has endured a torrid eighteen months here in Manchester and now the new man, Ali Dursun, will be looking to ensure his client is playing his football elsewhere in the not too distant future.
That’s obviously easier said than done, while Van de Beek’s former agent was seemingly looking to force that exit. However, with the Dutchman’s contract still with a few years left to run, the ball is still firmly in United’s court.
Perhaps Van de Beek is also looking at the managerial situation as a way in. If Solskjaer is sacked, the new man in charge may well fancy the Dutchman much more than Solskjaer ever did. I guess only time will tell on that front…
