Donny van de Beek isn’t happy with how he’s being treated by Man United.
I think it’s fair to say that Manchester United aren’t handling situations very well at the moment. First Jesse Lingard, a player who has been at the club for two decades, is extremely frustrated at his treatment.
Now, the Old Trafford club are doing similar with Donny van de Beek, the Manchester Evening News are reporting.
Apparently, the United star feels ‘upset’ at his Man United situation, as the club are still contemplating whether to allow the Dutchman to leave on loan before Monday’s deadline.
Dressing room sources have apparently told the MEN that Van de Beek feels misled about how his second season at United is playing out. He’s so far failed to start a single Premier League game this term. Presumably, he’d been told otherwise…
Understandably, the player wants to leave this month for numerous reasons. First and foremost, he’s been omitted from Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad – and he’d like to get back into that before the World Cup next year. On top of that, Van de Beek just wants to be playing regularly. It really is that simple.
Apparently, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund were offered Van de Beek by United this month, with Crystal Palace also showing loan interest. However, Ralf Rangnick would like to keep the ex-Ajax man around as he feels the squad is light in midfield…
Personally, at this point, this just feels cruel. Van de Beek deserves his opportunity to prove his worth on the field – be it at Old Trafford elsewhere.
If he’s just going to rot on the bench, what’s the point in keeping him around? Honestly, just let him leave and play his football for another club from now until the end of the season. Then, United can reassess this situation over the summer.
