Donny van de Beek was given a brilliant send-off by Ajax fans last night, as he gears up for his Manchester United debut following a transfer.
The chant is something we covered on the site earlier this week and it’s definitely a song I can picture hearing amongst the Old Trafford terraces in future.
However, last night was his final game on Dutch soil before he moves to Manchester. He played in his country’s 1-0 loss to Italy, though after the match, Ajax supporters wanted to show Van de Beek some love.
They gave Van de Beek a brilliant send-off, lighting flares and chanting his name, showing that he’s certainly leaving the Eredivisie outfit on excellent terms.

I love stuff like this. It shows Van de Beek had an excellent rapport with the Ajax supporters, who are no doubt sad to see him go. However, they’re fully supportive of his decision to go on to bigger and better things.
From taking the #34 jersey for his friend ‘Appie Nouri’ to the connection with his Ajax supporters, it shows United are not only getting a brilliant player, but a grounded lad. I’ve got full confidence in his ability to fit right into that Old Trafford dressing room.
Now, it’s about hitting the ground running and making an instant impact. His first game is likely to be against Crystal Palace in eleven days’ time. I’m not sure whether he’ll start, but you can guarantee he’ll be involved against the Eagles.
I, for one, cannot wait. Hopefully, he’s not the only debut United hand out in that match. Though Edward Woodward needs to act quickly to get signings through the door…
