Donny van de Beek ready to make effort to leave Man United: report

Man United midfielder Donny van de Beek is going to push for a move away in January.

Last summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s big transfer coup was Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman, who looked sharp in his first couple of games, quickly stagnated.

That growth was stunted largely due to a lack of playing time, while Van de Beek’s confidence obviously started to dip. That’s always a recipe for disaster.

It felt like the former Ajax man came back to Manchester this summer with renewed hope. However, that hope has quickly fizzled.

Van de Beek has made just two starts this term, which is nowhere near enough for any player that is looking to make an impact.

Late last night, the Daily Mail ran a piece which claims Van de Beek has simply had enough. After showing visible frustration when not coming on as a substitute against Villareal, this latest news does make complete sense.

Apparently, the 24-year-old United star is ‘ready’ to make an effort to leave in January. This is another attempt by the Dutchman, who tried to get out of Old Trafford over the summer.

The Daily Mail claim that Van de Beek will ‘renew his efforts’ to depart after his situation simply hasn’t improved, despite assurances that the midfielder would be given the chance to play more. Obviously, one League Cup start and one Champions League start isn’t enough for a man who wants to make an impact on a much greater scale.

We’re talking about a player who just wants to show his talent on the field. Right now, that opportunity isn’t being presented to him. Why would United spend such large sums on a player to just sit on the bench? Obviously, that’s a pretty unfair situation.

Confidence took a knock, while Van de Beek was also exiled from the last Holland squad. It’s now having a wider impact on the 24-year-old.

I firmly believe Van de Beek is well within his rights to demand an exit as soon as possible. Sadly, I don’t see Solskjaer changing his stance on this situation anytime soon…
