Donny van de Beek sends heartfelt message to Man United fans as he leaves club

Donny van de Beek has sent a heartfelt message to the Man United fans, as he prepares to leave for Girona.

Manchester United Football Club appear to be closing in on their first major sale of the summer, with the Red Devils looking to drastically change the shape of their squad over the next month and a half.

This transfer has happened quickly. It was only earlier this week that United and Girona agreed to a minimal fee for the Dutch midfielder. Now, it appears the deal is all but complete.

The ex-Ajax man will head to Spain in order to kick-start his career that halted badly at Old Trafford. This is a great opportunity for the 27-year-old to rediscover his best form, win over some new fans and most importantly, play games with regularity again.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Van de Beek has said his goodbyes to United, posting a heartfelt message. He wishes us all luck, thanks and support – which must not have been easy to do given how badly it went for him here in Manchester.

It really didn’t work out for Donny in Manchester, though he’s still an excellent player with massive potential. His best years are still ahead of him, I’m sure of that.

I just hope Spain treat him well, Girona give him the minutes he deserves and this is the start of something special for the ex-Ajax man.

Sadly, it was just too far gone for him here in Manchester.
