Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s patience in regards to transfers must be wearing thing. Heck I know mine is! Anyway, the latest rumour is one claiming Donny van de Beek is ready for a Man United switch.

We were first made aware of the story earlier today, but our friends over at Stretty News. They’re citing a report from Spanish media outlet, Fichajes.

Apparently, the classy 23-year-old Van De Beek has his heart set on a Premier League move. So-much-so that he’d snub Catalan giants FC Barcelona in favour of Manchester United, or any other top-quality English side.

Sky Sports state that Van de Beek is awaiting offers, though none have come yet. While Ajax’s executive, Edwin van der Sar, has already stated the Dutch side will listen to offers.

Red Devils interest in Van de Beek isn’t new, though the reported United target being so easily available has me thinking… If the Red Devils were so keen on signing the Dutchman, why hasn’t a move been made already?

Perhaps attentions are still firmly fixated on Jadon Sancho, or any wide player for that matter. However, if United are so keen on signing Van de Beek, they’re running the risk of losing him by dragging their feet…

Why Donny van de Beek to Man United makes sense

The Dutchman has a winding down contract with two years left on his deal. With that in mind, he’d be relatively cheap.

United need depth in the middle of the park, while Van de Beek would bring something different to the table. His ball retention is excellent, as his ability to make good runs forward and get involved in the attack when the situation presents itself.

This is a Champions League-proven asset who could slot seamlessly into this squad. Add him, a defender and possibly Jadon Sancho and suddenly this United team is jam-packed with quality…
