Manchester United may well be back in the market for Jadon Sancho this summer, with his asking price now reduced…
Ah yes, it was only going to be a matter of time before this transfer rumour reared its head again. Though I thought it’d take longer than a few days after the January transfer window slammed shut.
Once again, Manchester United are at the centre. Apparently, the Red Devils are on alert, as the asking price for the top-class 20-year-old has been drastically reduced. That’s according to SportBILD (see below), translated by The Mirror.
Over the summer, Dortmund stood firm on their £108m asking price for Sancho. However, due to Coronavirus constraints, United refused to pay up.
Now the landscape has significantly changed for Dortmund, who are willing to drop their asking price by a massive £20m, meaning Sancho would now cost somewhere around £88m.
Apparently, this news is likely to recapture United’s interest in the super-talented Englishman, although the club had begun to ‘go cold’ on the idea of spending big on Sancho.
Check out SportBILD’s story on the news here (in German):

Dortmund’s money issues may well play into United’s hands, though now there are question marks about whether the Reds even want to sign Sancho.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer acquired Amad Diallo instead and if the Ivorian hits the ground running, Sancho may be nothing but a mere afterthought for the Old Trafford club.
That’s not me doubting his talents. It’s just that his early-season struggles left plenty to be desired. As for Diallo, he looks a real player and someone who cost significantly less, too.
Right now, I’d say this deal is far less likely to happen than it was in the summer, but I still wouldn’t be surprised to see United test the waters at the very least…
