Manchester United and a proposed Jadon Sancho transfer continues to rumble on, as the 20-time Premier League champions look to add further firepower to an already impressive attacking line.
Just a couple of days ago, we covered a story from Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast, who actually claimed the Red Devils had already agreed personal terms with Sancho on a five-year contract.
Now, German media outlet Ruhr Nachrichten have offered us a vital update in regards to Dortmund’s stance on the situation.
Apparently, the Bundesliga outfit has set a date for the Jadon Sancho transfer, as they want clarity on his future by the start of August. Ruhr Nachrichten state that if there are no ‘satisfactory offers’ on the table, the Englishman will go into the 2020/21 season with the Black and Yellows.
What’s also interesting is that the article claims Dortmund have informed United that they will only part with the winger for a fixed amount of £108m (€120m). Give United are apparently only prepared to pay £50million to sign Sancho, that may well be a problem…
COVID-19 has certainly played its part here. Money is tight for everyone, while Dortmund aren’t under any immediate pressure to sell with Sancho having two years remaining on his current deal.
I’d like to think that United and the Bundesliga outfit will find some common ground. After all, we’re talking about a 20-year-old superstar who scored twenty and assisted eighteen goals in 2019/20. Add that to a team containing Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Phwoar…
