Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal has been preparing his summer transfers since as early as January, and one player he’ll know very well is Georginio Wijnaldum, the 24-year old midfielder who plays his football for PSV.
The Dutchman has fuelled the fire about a potential move to Old Trafford in the summer, and admitted that he’d love to link up with Louis van Gaal once again.
Wijnaldum said:
“I want to play in a stronger league than the Eredivisie.”
“With my quality I feel I can bring a lot to a team that I will join. I want to show it in the big leagues; England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France.”
“Of course I would like to work with him again.”
“He is a good trainer, and makes players better. I work really fine with him and he is a great man.”
Louis van Gaal seems to have this effect on players – they either love him or hate him. Wijnaldum clearly has a lot of respect for the man.
At just 24, Wijnaldum still has a lot of developing to do, and he certainly seems keen to learn. He can play Van Gaal’s high intensity game well and he has all the key attributes that’d see him be a success in the Premier League.
