On Thursday night, Manchester United Football Club were beaten by FC Astana – though the game did present some positives for the Red Devils and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Youngsters aplenty got their first-team opportunities and it was superb to see them flourish. James Garner, Ethan Laird and Dylan Levitt certainly stole the show. For the latter, another chance could come his way perhaps sooner than even he thought…
According to the Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst, the talented 19-year-old Levitt has been named in the United squad to face Aston Villa. He could make his Premier League debut this afternoon.
Honestly, if Levitt was given the chance to play it’d be the least he deserves. Right now is as good-a-chance as any to make a statement, too…
United are struggling in midfield. Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic are all injured. Solskjaer is looking for that creative spark and why can’t this impressive young man bring that?
His ball retention is excellent. Levitt always tries to play it forward where possible and he’s a brilliant carrier of possession as well. Deployed in a three, this young man could come in and make a real difference. Personally, I’d hand him the start today, though that would be a bold call by Solskjaer.
