Early Squad News: Man United missing two key players for Liverpool clash

Manchester United take on Liverpool this Saturday lunchtime, seeing Jose Mourinho’s men presented with an excellent opportunity to cement their place as second in the Premier League table.

Ahead of that, the Manchester Evening News have once again provided us with the all-important travelling squad news, and there were two rather notable absentees when the players arrived at the Lowry Hotel.

There was no Anthony Martial, who missed United’s game against Crystal Palace on Monday Night Football. However, Paul Pogba wasn’t present, either. The two Frenchman are so vital as to how the Red Devils play their football, and missing both could be a huge blow for Mourinho’s plans.

However, there is some good news as Eric Bailly is apparently back to full fitness. He’s comfortably our best defender, and having him back at the heart of our back-four is a huge boost. Personally, I just feel so much more confident in our team when he’s there, and once we find him the correct partner, our defence will be up there amongst the best in the world.

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero.

Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young.

Midfielders: Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Scott McTominay, Michael Carrick.

Forwards: Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford.
