Edinson Cavani is the only Manchester United player who has made it into Garth Crooks’ latest Team of the Week.
Manchester United would eventually run out 3-1 winners against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur, in a game that the Red Devils absolutely deserved to win.
VAR and Spurs theatrics did their best to cause an upset, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men showed real resilience, fight and a desire to win. To a man, everyone in United colours deserves credit for that.
When eating my breakfast, taking a glance at the morning news, I opened up Garth Crooks’ latest BBC Team of the Week. To my surprise, only one United star would make the cut…

How Paul Pogba didn’t make this team is beyond me. He had a miles better game than Thomas Partey, against far more difficult opposition, too.
I’d also thought Luke Shaw was in with a great shout, though the Liverpool love-in was inevitable, given the BBC’s love for them coupled with the lack of opportunities to drive home that point.
Anyway, back to the man who did make it; Edinson Cavani. Based on that performance alone, I’d sign him up for another year or two if he wants to stay around.
Without question, he’s our best striker. Sure, he may not have the speed he once had but the movement, the run-making, the sheer desire to win was all there on full display. It goes without saying, he’s a pretty handy finisher, too.
If United could somehow find a way to keep him fully fit for a season, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t score that 20+ goals that we’d need from him, while the likes of Mason Greenwood could learn an awful lot in the process.
