Edinson Cavani wants to play for, and stay at Manchester United next season.
Manchester United Football Club have no doubt improved this season. Credit goes to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for that.
Our Baby Faced Assassin has made some top, top signings. It’s probably the area where he’s excelled most. From Bruno Fernandes to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Solskjaer has nailed pretty much every transfer.
I’ll be the first to admit I had doubts about a move for Edinson Cavani. El Matador quickly quelled those fears with some impressive performances.
It was only a one-year deal, though. So I guess it was a risk-free move. Well, the star who has scored seven goals for United now wants to play at United next season, according to Mike McGrath.
With only four months left on his deal, it would’ve been easy for Cavani to put the feelers out and gauge what the interest in him is like. Well, he’s focused on 2021/22 rather than moving away, while United also have the option to extend his contract by a further twelve months.
Check out what Mike McGrath had to say here:
Right now, Cavani is our best striker. That much is obvious. He’s experienced, an extremely hard worker and lethal when bearing down on goal.
I’d have no qualms about keeping him here for another season. Possibly even beyond that.
It gives Solskjaer one less problem to worry about going into a crucial transfer window. For me, though, what’s most important is commitment. Cavani wants to stay here and he’s more than good enough to start games week-in-week-out under the current regime. It would be daft to let him leave at this point.
