Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped the praise on ‘very important’ Edinson Cavani, ahead of Man United vs Burnley tonight.

Fresh off his three-game ban, our summer signing will be fit and raring to go for this one. It’s a game that if the 20-time Premier League champions win, they’ll be sitting atop the table tonight.

Burnley, though, is always a difficult task – particularly away from home. Sean Dyche’s men will make this one a dogfight, our players need to be up for the challenge from the first minute.

Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking to the media, taking time out to hail the influence of now key United man, Cavani.

Solskjaer was asked about El Matador’s return and had this to say:

“He’ll be very important for us and instrumental with his experience and his goals and his threat in the box.” Solskjaer told reporters, including ManUtd.com.

“For us, we almost look at this Burnley game now as the start of the season. Everyone is more or less fit, we’ve built our way up to good fitness, bounced back after the disappointment of last week’s semi-final and beat Watford with players who haven’t played for a while. Now, everyone is mentally and physically ready for the rest of the season.”

I don’t think it’s a stretch to claim that Cavani is probably United’s best striker. His movement, hold-up play, finishing prowess and positional awareness is second to none.

For one reason or another, the Uruguay international is yet to get the opportunity at a real run in the team. I believe that’ll all change this evening at turf Moor.

It’s these sort of games that United simply need to be winning in order to give themselves every opportunity at winning titles. You have to go to grounds like Burnley’s grind out the result and get the job done. Tonight is a real test of the mettle within that squad.

Someone like Cavani can make all the difference. If there’s only one half-chance going United’s way in this game, you’d pray it falls to him. Hopefully, we’re left celebrating at 10pm UK time tonight.
