Manchester United Football Club have had a star on their hands for quite some time now, as Andreas Pereira continues to grow as a player.
Back-to-back loan moves in Spain certainly helped him over the last two years, but now, he’s ready to leave his mark on Old Trafford. According to the Daily Mirror, the 22-year-old is set to hold talks with United out in Miami, as he wants to discuss his future before returning to England.
Pereira’s stature at the club just continues to rise. Before those aforementioned loan spells to Spain, the Brazil midfielder enjoyed two excellent pre-seasons. His third tour under Jose Mourinho has been the best yet, as he once again impressed the fans, this time against fierce rivals Liverpool thanks to a simply stunning free-kick.
His versatility is something that’s been pleasantly surprising. I always assumed Pereira would be an attacker, but the job he’s done in the holding-midfielder role deserves huge credit. He’s got an excellent passing range, doesn’t hide from a one-on-one battle while possessing the work-rate required to get up and down the field.
With Nemanja Matic missing the Premier League’s start due to injury, that could well be where Pereira gets his opening. I wouldn’t bet against Mourinho throwing him into the mix against Leicester City in under two weeks time.
