Eric Bailly admits the players have been told about the arrival of a new manager.
Manchester United Football Club have undoubtedly improved during Michael Carrick’s two-game tenure. Credit where it’s due, the ex-Red midfielder has these players working hard again.
Against Chelsea yesterday, it felt like there was a change in attitude. Suddenly, the players were pressing high up the field and putting in way more effort.
In the end, the draw was probably the fair result but the new manager must have been encouraged by what he saw from those players in Red. Now, Eric Bailly has admitted the dressing room have been informed about the arrival of that new manager…
Eric Bailly told RMC Sports Julien Laurens:
“We have been told in the dressing room about the arrival of the new manager.”
Ralf Rangnick is undoubtedly that man. It’s now just a waiting game as to when he’ll be able to come in and take charge of training sessions.
The fact that the dressing room has been informed leads me to believe that United are confident the deal will go through – and quickly. With there being very little turnaround time in between United’s next game against Arsenal, I’d be surprised if the German is in the dugout for that one.
Honestly, I’m excited to see how the second half of our season goes. It’s easy to forget that this squad is jam-packed with talent and ability and no doubt Rangnick already has an idea of players that he believes can make a long-term impact.
I’m looking at the likes of Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek as two guys who could drastically improve as soon as the 63-year-old walks through the door.
The fact that the players now know who the new was ahead of that game against Chelsea definitely gave the starters a little bit of extra motivation. They’ll be looking to impress and force their way into the team on a long-term basis – and Bailly is definitely one player who used that to his advantage.
