Eric Bailly feels disrespected by Man Utd, ‘has had enough’

When it rains, it pours. After a tough loss to Leicester City at the weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now has a major Eric Bailly problem to deal with.

Manchester United Football Club have had a major issue when it comes to conceding goals. The Old Trafford club have shipped way too many to be considered genuine contenders this term, while I’ll admit it’s not all on the defenders.

Our midfield hasn’t been good enough either, though, in the end, the responsibility falls on those at the back. Eric Bailly has divided opinion for so long.

Rash? Erratic? An odd style of defending? Bailly ticks all those boxes. A strong case can also be made that he’s United’s best defender when fit. Those last two words are all-important as he’s seriously struggled with injury issues for far too long.

After being left out of the squad for the last two games, it seems as though Bailly’s had enough. His friend has been speaking to the media, admitting that the United star is frustrated at a lack of opportunities, while strongly hinting at a United exit as he doesn’t want to continue sitting on the bench…

A friend of the centre-back told Sky Sports News:

“Eric loves the club and the fans, his family are settled in Manchester and he’d like nothing more than to spend the rest of his career at Old Trafford

“But he feels the club has been very disrespectful towards him and frankly he’s had enough.

“He feels that no matter what he does, he will never be first choice for Ole.

“He now realises he’s too good and too young to spend his time sitting on the bench.”

These are some seriously strong words from the unnamed friend of Bailly – and I’m not quite sure we’re getting all the information.

Bailly has been used by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on numerous occasions this season, though the Baby Faced Assassin also has a responsibility to ensure the Ivorian is fully fit.

After all, Bailly has barely played any games over the last few seasons. In fact, this is his best campaign in terms of minutes played since his debut season four years ago.

I find it hard to believe that Bailly is being unfairly treated. Rather, Solskjaer is looking to ease his centre-back into proceedings again. Plus, when you factor in just how good Victor Lindelof was against AC Milan, that selection decision felt more than justified.

Honestly, if Bailly wants to leave, let him. I don’t think he’s someone you can completely rely upon and that’s a major issue. The only problem for United is that it gives them another problem to try and solve during an already crucial summer transfer window.
