Eric Bailly has called out manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer openly.
Slowly but surely, the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is increasing. For so long, it felt like the main reason he had the job was because of the excellent rapport he had with players.
However, highly motivated individuals only have a short leash. When results start to turn, their opinions quickly change…
According to The Telegraph, the dressing room is starting to turn on the Baby Faced Assassin, with Eric Bailly, in particular, speaking his mind…
Apparently, the £87k-a-week star (Salary Sport) ‘openly challenged’ Solskjaer in the dressing room after United’s poor 4-2 loss to Leicester City just over a week ago.
Bailly wasn’t happy with Solskjaer’s decision to pick an unfit Harry Maguire, while the Ivorian continues to patiently wait for his first-team chance this term.
Then, another senior player questioned why Van de Beek has been used so sparingly this term.
It does feel like the squad is starting to divide on their opinions in regards to Solskajer, which is never a good thing for any manager.
The Bailly calling out, in particular, is worrying. When players publicly address these situations inside the dressing room, it can lead to a straining squad which is never good for morale.
Bailly is already feeling frustrated due to a lack of his individual playing time, so decisions like starting an unfit Maguire definitely anger him more than most.
Perhaps a better decision would be to keep this conversation between himself and the manager, but I get it, in times of genuine anger, it’s hard to not speak up.
What’s worrying for me is that this leak has obviously come from somewhere who was in the dressing room at the time. Someone wants this information out there in order to further unsettle the situation. That leads me to think it’s now a case of when rather than if Solskjaer loses his job.
