Eric Bailly sends heartfelt message to fans after season-ending injury

Manchester United’s season is ending with a whimper. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are struggling for any sort of form whatsoever, as our hopes of finishing in the top-four are all-but over.

There was only so much that the Baby Faced Assassin could do. After a strong start, things faded and it feels as though a big summer clearout is necessary.

Amongst those players who has underperformed this season is Eric Bailly. However, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt as injuries have massively disrupted his flow. Yesterday, the club confirmed the Ivorian had suffered knee ligament damage. His road to recovery for next season is already underway.

Today, the centre-half took to social media to send a heartfelt message to the Old Trafford fans, as Bailly added he’ll be working hard to get back as soon as possible.

Honestly, it may be sheer naivety but I’m still convinced he’s our best centre-half. It’s just a shame that the severity of this injury means he’ll probably struggle to get back fit and ready for pre-season.

With a full summer of workout under his belt I’d like to think he’d show the world just how good he can be next campaign, but I fear there is more of the same injury woes still ahead as getting a pre-season under your belt is vital.
