Erik ten Hag confirms Aaron Wan-Bissaka injury setback

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka has suffered an injury setback in training.

Manchester United Football Club have been seriously struggling on the injury front this season, with several key players out for prolonged periods. Thankfully, the likes of Luke Shaw and Casemiro are now back out there – though Erik ten Hag is still missing some key faces.

No doubt Lisandro Martinez is the biggest blow, while Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia still need time before they’re going to be ready to return. The English midfielder, in particular, is a curious case.

While speaking to the media yesterday, Ten Hag would confirm another fresh blow for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is now out for ‘some weeks’ after a training ground issue has been suffered by the right-back.

’The Spider’ is another one who has endured a stop-start campaign with problem after problem. It’s a shame because he was developing nicely under our Dutch manager, really working on the offensive side of his game and starting to show genuine qualities in the final third.

Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka will take some weeks because he picked up another injury in training last week”. Ten Hag is quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano.

Now, Wan-Bissaka is out for multiple weeks with a fresh injury. The full extent of which has not been revealed by the United gaffer, though you’d imagine we won’t see the ex-Crystal Palace man before March at the very earliest.

It comes at a time where United are already super light in the full-back position. Luke Shaw is touch-and-go for Sunday’s game, with Diogo Dalot the only other fit, senior full-back available.

While we’re talking about the man from Portugal, he has really taken charge of that starting right-back role over the last couple of weeks. I do wonder whether Wan-Bissaka will find it difficult to break back into the side upon his return, whenever that may be…
