Erik ten Hag has his heart set on Man United move: report

Erik ten Hag apparently wants the Man United job this summer…

As we all know, Ralf Rangnick has only been given the Manchester United job on an interim basis. Sure, there’s a chance that the German could be given the job permanently, but as things stand, all indications suggest that a new gaffer will be in charge sooner rather than later.

Countless names have been linked with the Old Trafford hot-seat. Though two seem to appear on the back pages more than most; Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.

Both feel like they’d be good fits for what United want to achieve, though more recently, it’s Ten Hag’s name being pushed more.

The latest update in the brewing saga comes from the Daily Mail – and they go big. They currently claim that the Ajax manager is studying English, while the manager is looking to move away from the Dutch club at the end of this season.

To further add to that, it’s written that the 52-year-old manager has ‘his heart set’ on the Man United job this summer.

Again, Ten Hag is viewed as an emerging managerial talent. The general consensus is that he’s outgrown Ajax and is now looking to further his career.

Make no mistake about it, bringing him in would be a gamble as he has no experience managing at the absolute highest level. However, judging by his previous work, the skill is obviously there to win major trophies.

No doubt Ten Hag would need time to fully implement his tactics and ideas, though. United have to give him that, while expecting it to take a year or two before we’d start seeing what the boss is truly capable of. That rings true for whoever is hired by the way, even if it isn’t Ten Hag…
