Erik ten Hag heaps praise on Isak Hansen-Aaoren after impressive pre-season game

Man United gaffer, Erik ten Hag, was very pleased with Isak Hansen-Aaoren after his pre-season performance vs Leeds United.

Manchester United Football Club started their pre-season with a pretty positive performance on Wednesday. The Old Trafford side looked good against Leeds United, with the young guns, in particular, impressing.

Erik ten Hag has been firm but fair with the academy players. They will not be gifted opportunities when the serious stuff starts. Rather, they’ll have to earn them.

Perhaps one of the few players who is good enough to do just that is Isak Hansen-Aaoren. The young Norwegian was part of the FA Youth Cup winning squad in 2022, looking like one of the best players in that side, along with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

It was great to see the midfielder given his opportunity against Leeds, with Ten Hag heaping praise on the 18-year-old after the match. The boss explained that Hansen-Aaroen ‘did well’, before pointing to the midfielder being ‘very comfortable’ on the ball as a particular highlight.

Check out what the gaffer had to say on Hansen-Aaroen in full here:

“He did well,” the Red Devils boss told UnitedNo. “He had a good pass on the first goal. You can see that he is very comfortable with the ball. He also had some nice jabs and showed a good overview.

“He is of course a young player. He has some small things to work on. But we want to tell him that, show him and then work with him to get the right movements in.”

I absolutely adore the way Hansen-Aaroren plays the game. He gives 100% in everything he does when he’s out on the field. Be it picking out a pass or chasing down an opposing teammate, he’s always full-blooded and working hard.

It’s worth noting that Leeds played a good strength side in that game and Hansen-Aaroen absolutely didn’t look out of place going against those grown men.

Right now, I’d imagine a loan move is the next step for the man from Norway. I do not see him earning regular minutes in the first-team this season, though that could change in twelve months’ time with a good year under his belt.
