Raphael Varane may well be back for the FA Cup final, according to Erik ten Hag.

Yesterday was a tense affair at Wembley, though in the end, the Old Trafford side did just about enough to book their place in the FA Cup final – and a date with Manchester City.

If all things go as expected, the final could be United trying to defend their record of being the only English side to win the proper treble. Talk about drama!

This is always going to be a tough game. However, United’s current injury issues make this situation even more difficult for the Old Trafford club. The treatment table could reduce by one, according to the gaffer.

Erik ten Hag confirmed to TalkSport that they may have one key star back for the final – maybe sooner. Raphael Varane.

Check out talkSPORT’s Alex Crook’s tweet on it here:

The Frenchman picked up an injury in the game against Sevilla at Old Trafford a week or so ago, initially being ruled out for a few weeks – though there were also fears his season was over.

Well, Ten Hag appears to quash those rumours by admitting that the ex-Real Madrid man could be back before the season’s end, which would be a massive lift for the dressing room.

Don’t get me wrong, Luke Shaw has done a cracking job in the interim in that position, though Varane is just vastly more experienced as a centre-half. It’d also allow Shaw to go back to his more familiar left-back spot.

This would be huge news. If Varane can come back and partner an in-form Lindelof, then maybe, just maybe, United have a chance at FA Cup glory.
