Erik ten Hag is here. He has been named Manchester United’s new manager.
Manchester United have their man. From next season, it’ll be Erik ten Hag sat in the Old Trafford dugout game-in-game-out, looking to deliver the glory days back to Salford Quays.
The Dutchman is a total unknown when it comes to managing in an elite European league, though you can only look on with admiration when viewing the work he has done with Ajax over in the Eredivisie.
There’s no doubt that he’ll need time to deliver his best. The club and fans have to remain patient. However, we do have many reasons to be excited.
Shortly after confirming the news, United posted an article of Ten Hag being pictured donning his new club colours already. Suddenly, this feels very real – but I love it!
Now, the club have released the first photo of Ten Hag posing with his new club’s shirt, see below:
While I’m sure Ajax probably aren’t thrilled with the fact that this is now overshadowing their league title push, for us United fans it’s only good news.
Ten Hag is now in place from the summer, meaning the club can start planning for a huge summer transfer window with his blessing. The powers that be have to be in direct contact with Ten Hag on a regular basis, picking his brains in regards to what sort of players he’d like to bring in.
This is probably our most important transfer window in years. They’ll be a mass exodus after that final ball of the 2021/22 season is kicked and those faces will need replacing with genuine quality. Not only will big bucks have to be spent, the Reds also have to ensure they’re signing players who fit the system.
