Erik ten Hag has shared the latest on Marcus Rashford, who came off injured as Man United drew 2-2 with Liverpool.
Manchester United Football Club drew 2-2 at home to Liverpool yesterday, which probably ends any hope of the Red Devils finishing inside the top four. Although it was largely one way traffic in Liverpool’s favour, the Reds could have certainly won it late on…
The game itself was exciting, particularly in the second 45 minutes, though once again, United were hit with an injury. This time around, it was Marcus Rashford who couldn’t continue midway through the second half.
I’m still unsure what the problem was, though Rashford was struggling to walk off the field off his own accord following picking up the issue, with Antony coming on in place of the Englishman.
Thankfully, Erik ten Hag provided an encouraging injury update on the United star, though the Reds will still be sweating on the fitness of the attacker ahead of the Bournemouth game.
Check out what the gaffer had to say on Rashy here:
“I’m not sure, but I don’t think it will be long term.” Ten Hag told ManUtd.com when asked about Rashford’s injury.
It’s good that the boss doesn’t think it’s anything too serious, as United still have an FA Cup to play for. We’re going to need all our senior players available for both the semi-final and a potential final.
Although Rashford’s form has been up and down this season, he’s still one of the first names on the team sheet and his individual brilliance is always a factor in any game. In those tight-knit matches against Premier League quality opposition, it’s the Englishman who can so often make the difference.
Get well soon, Rashy!
