Erik ten Hag has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Tottenham Hotspur game early.
Over the summer, Manchester United had a tough decision to make about Cristiano Ronaldo. In the end, the Red Devils opted to keep the striker at the club – presumably due to a lack of interest in him from elsewhere.
It was evident early that this United side is better without Ronaldo in it. Sadly, his lack of mobility and unwillingness to press is there for all to see. Marcus Rashford, although not as lethal in front of goal, is a far better option.
Ronaldo remained rooted to the bench as the Old Trafford club beat Spurs 2-0 last night, cutting a frustrated figure when Anthony Elanga’s number was called ahead of his.
Shortly after, the veteran striker was spotted by the cameras walking down the tunnel. Initially, it was assumed he’d headed into the dressing room early. When in fact, Ronaldo has been accused of leaving the ground early at that moment.
In his press conference after, Ten Hag confirmed that he will ‘deal with’ that tomorrow (today).

It’s just a sad situation, but you have to expect better from Ronaldo.
You can be as talented as you want, but you have to remain professional. my opinion is that Ronaldo can’t hack it that he isn’t the greatest in the world anymore. Sadly, time catches up with everyone.
Right now, United are miles better with Ronnie on the bench and a sale of the Portugal international in January now looks more likely than ever before.
I guess it all comes down to the Old Trafford club finding a wiling buyer for a player who is no longer at his peak. His humongous wages could be an issue…
