Mason Mount will not make his injury return against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.
Manchester United Football Club return to Premier League action tomorrow evening, with a trip to Molineux and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the offing.
It will not be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination, with Erik ten Hag’s men needing to be at their absolute best in order to win all three points.
The good news for United? Players are now returning from injury and the treatment room is certainly looking far less full than it did a month or so ago.
However, there are still a few players missing, including Mason Mount.
The Englishman has been missing for months at this point, but is closing in on a return. This one will come ‘too soon’ for the midfielder, Ten Hag has revealed.
Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:
“Mason Mount, it is too soon, yeah,” confirmed Ten Hag to ManUtd.com. “But Andre Onana will return.”
It’s a real shame actually. Mount hasn’t been given any consistent minutes this season due to injury, while he’s definitely a player who improves this squad when fit.
His movement, passing, energy and sheer skill would be a nice option to have for Ten Hag. The emergence of Kobbie Mainoo could make it more difficult to start games with regularity, though I do believe he’ll be given his fair share of minutes, particularly as Casemiro continues to age.
When you’ve been out sidelined for so long, the worst thing to do would be to rush Mount back. Patience is absolutely key and I don’t doubt that when given a real run in the team, he will flourish.
Get well soon, Mase!
