Erik ten Hag to Man United almost done, agreement set to be completed

Erik ten Hag to Man United has been given the ‘here we go’ treatment by Fabrizio Romano…

Manchester United will look like a completely different outfit in the 2022/23 season. There’s absolutely zero doubt about that.

The Old Trafford club will move Ralf Rangnick upstairs, with a new manager set to be in the dugout as the wholesale changes are set to begin.

Well, it feels like we’ve known the identity of the new os for at least a couple of weeks now. Erik ten Hag is certain to be that man.

It’s all about when an announcement will be made, though Fabrizio Romano believes that will not happen today.

The Italian journalist did use his trademark ‘Here we go!’ when announcing that a contract agreement is set to be reached, as the deal with Ten Hag moves ever closer.

On top of that, Mitchell van der Gaag has been earmarked as a ‘priority candidate’ for Ten Hag’s new coaching staff. The 50-year-old is currently Ten Hag’s assistant over at Ajax.

There’s no doubt Ten Hag will need time to build his project. He’s moving to a new country, working with new players who aren’t accustomed to this system.

Signings are needed, a mentality change is also required. It’s not going to happen overnight and we fans will have to remain patient. They’ll be ups, they’ll be downs. We have to stick it out through the tough times and give the Dutchman a platform he can build on from.

I just hope the club back Ten Hag this summer because there’s going to be massive player overhaul. United need to give him the best possible shot at starting off on the right foot.
