Erling Haaland is still the number one aim for Man United next summer.
In Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United have welcomed home a legend. The GOAT is back home, twelve years after leaving Old Trafford.
With the 36-year-old set to be here for two seasons at least, many have questioned whether the Red Devils are now out of the running to sign a top-class forward like Harry Kane or Erling Haaland.
Well, in regards to the latter, that’s definitely not the case. According to ESPN, a move for the 21-year-old star remains United’s ‘priority’ transfer target next summer.
Haaland has been consistently linked with a move to United, both before and after the Norwegian sensation sealed a move to Borussia Dortmund. So it makes sense his countryman Solskjaer is still keen on adding the budding superstar.
It’s said that Ronaldo returning home will not affect United’s plans to make a move for Haaland – which is obviously good news.
However, there could be a small issue of other interested parties. It’s not every day a player like Haaland becomes available. Hence why Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all credited with an interest in the prolific forward. Yeah, it’s not going to be easy to pull this one off…
City needs a forward, Munich needs to replace Robert Lewandowski soon while Real Madrid needs some star power. All will push just as hard as United to sign Haaland – so we have to show him what he’d be missing by having a successful 2021/22 season.
United will have the financial resources to make this move happen. The player would be idolised here. We just have to make sure he chooses Old Trafford over any other stadium in world football.
