Ethan Galbraith ‘set to leave’ Man United this summer

Man United are set to let Ethan Galbraith leave the club this summer, upon the expiry of his contract.

As has always been the case at Manchester United, this club has always given young players a chance. Erik ten Hag is keen to continue that mantra. Alejandro Garnacho is proving that, with Kobbie Mainoo set to be the next to step up.

Sometimes, though, it’s not always about success stories. Largely, United’s youth players move on elsewhere due to a lack of first-team opportunities. One man who looks set to follow that path is Ethan Galbraith.

It’s ManchesterWorld with the information. They claim that the 21-year-old United midfielder is ‘set to leave’ the club this summer, as the Reds ‘decide against’ triggering the one-year contract extension clause in Galbraith’s current deal.

United believe there is ‘little chance’ of recouping a decent fee for Galbraith, who seemingly has no chance at making it into the first-team under Ten Hag.

Galbraith has spent this season on loan with League Two side Salford City, playing in a majority of their games this term – proving that he does have what it takes to play in the professional game at some level. Sadly, that just won’t be here at Old Trafford.

The Northern Irishman has actually attracted attention from Newcastle United, though if he heads to the Magpies, he’d depart on loan next term.

Stoke City, Sunderland and Derby County are among the sides monitoring his situation.

As is always the case with United youngsters, they’ll forever be etched in our club’s history whatever happens. I hope that Galbraith finds a home where he can start games regularly. We’ll be watching his career unfold with keenness.
