Manchester United Football Club continue their Europa League campaign on Thursday, with a game against Partizan Belgrade.
The Red Devils will be looking to take control of Group L, though before the encounter, United have been given another indication that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans are focusing on the future.
According to the official club website, talented 18-year-old, Ethan Laird, has been in first-team training with the rest of the squad, and could be in line for a place aboard the plane for tomorrow night’s game.
Laird, a full-back, has potential to go all the way to the top within the sport and he’s been simply sensational at youth level here at Old Trafford. To hear that he could well be in line for his senior debut is a nice surprise for us Reds fans, while for the player, I bet he’s buzzing.
The young man will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood and company, who have all been given ample chances to prove their worth within the first-team setup.
I’d love to see Laird involved tomorrow night in some capacity. Even if it’s just a place aboard the plane with the squad for a spot on the bench, it’ll do wonders for his confidence.
